Paying Your SSM Compound Online in Malaysia

An SSM compound is a fine issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia, or SSM) when a registered business breaches the Registration of Businesses Act 1956 — most commonly by renewing its business registration late. Until the compound is settled, your business can be blacklisted, which blocks you from renewing your SSM certificate in future.

EzyBiz lets you pay your SSM compound online in minutes, so you can avoid queueing at the SSM counter and clear the block on your account quickly.

Why settle a compound early?

  • Avoid the blacklist. An unpaid compound can cause your business to be blacklisted, preventing renewal of your registration.
  • Prevent further penalties. The longer a compound stays unpaid, the greater the risk of additional enforcement action by SSM.
  • Renew without delays. Clearing the compound lets your next SSM renewal go through smoothly.

How to pay your SSM compound online

  1. Enter your business registration number and business name.
  2. Key in your compound reference number (for example, CMPKL28072022632) and select the compound amount.
  3. Fill in your contact details and pay securely via FPX online banking.

Once payment is confirmed, we process the compound with SSM. Where prior compounds need clearing, it can take up to 5 working days to fully resolve.

Common questions

What is an SSM compound reference number?

It is the reference printed on the compound notice issued by SSM (often beginning with “CMP”). If you are unsure of your compound amount, you can add the late-compound option during renewal and we will confirm and clear it for you.

My business is only slightly late — do I still need to pay a compound?

SSM allows renewal up to 12 months after expiry, but late renewal may still attract a compound. Paying it promptly keeps your business in good standing and eligible to renew.

Can I renew my SSM business and pay the compound together?

Yes. If you are renewing a late registration, you can settle the compound as part of the process — see our SSM renewal page or read the compliance FAQ for details.
